Winchester based production company, Blue Marlin TV choose Kenny Deane Vinyl Art to produce a bespoke piece to give as an award to James Martin, one of the UK’s most popular TV chiefs.
Michael Cannock from Blue Marlin TV saw Kenny Deane at the Art & Design Market in Winchester and commissioned Kenny to produce something utilising the Dire Straits single from 1985, Money For Nothing.
The particular challenge was that it was needed for an event on the following Thursday so Kenny had to source the record, design the piece and model it in time for it to be given to the James at a production meeting.
Michael particularly wanted the Dire Straits record cut into the shape of front man, Mark Knopflers guitar and mounted on a Union Jack background. This had particular significance to James, a guitar and Dire Straits fan, as he played their best selling song, Money for Nothing at one of his live cooking events.
Michael Cannock said: “We wanted to give something personal and meaningful to James and when we saw Kenny’s work we just knew made what we wanted in just a few days, the final piece was perfect and of exceptional quality.”
Kenny Deane said: “I’m always delighted to pdf commission work especially if i can match the record and the deign into something that is truly significant t for the recipient so that the picture becomes significant and memorable.”
James Martin is also the founder and joint managing Director of Blue Marlin TV who produce not only his cooking tours for TV but also digital media for ASDA and ITV.
