Snoop Doggy Dogg – The Artist

Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. (born 1971), known professionally as Snoop Dogg (previously Snoop Doggy Dogg and briefly Snoop Lion), is an American rapper and media personality. His fame dates to 1992 when he featured on Dr. Dre’s debut solo single, “Deep Cover”, and then on Dre’s debut solo album, The Chronic. Snoop has since sold over 23 million albums in the United States and 35 million albums worldwide.

What’s My Name – The Song

‘What’s My Name(Also titled ‘Who Am I? (What’s My Name?)) is the solo debut single by American hip hop recording artist Snoop Doggy Dogg. It was released on October 10, 1993 as the first single from his debut album, Doggystyle, with the record labels Death Row Records, Interscope Records, and Atlantic Records. The song, produced by Dr. Dre, features samples and interpolations from George Clinton’s “Atomic Dog” in its chorus and throughout, the bass line from Funkadelic’s (Not Just) Knee Deep and an interpolation from Parliament’s “Give Up the Funk (Tear the Roof off the Sucker)” in its bridge. The song’s intro contains a sample from The Counts’ “Pack of Lies.” A vocal sample (“the bomb”) from Parliament’s “P. Funk (Wants to Get Funked Up)” can be heard throughout.

The Hoodie – The Shape

This record has been modelled into the silhouette of  a hoodie. A hoodie (in some cases it is also spelt hoody and alternatively known as a hooded sweatshirt) is a sweatshirt with a hood. Hoodies often include a muff sewn onto the lower front, and (usually) a drawstring to adjust the hood opening. The hoodie became popular in the 1970s, with several factors contributing to its success. Hip hop culture developed in New York City around this time and high fashion also took off during this era, as Norma Kamali and other high-profile designers embraced and glamorised the new clothing.
