Peabo Bryson & Roberta Flack – The Artists
Roberta Cleopatra Flack (born 1937) is a retired American singer who topped the charts with the No. 1 singles “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face”, “Killing Me Softly with His Song”, “Feel Like Makin’ Love”, “Where Is the Love” and “The Closer I Get to You”, the latter two duets with Donny Hathaway. Flack influenced the subgenre of contemporary R&B called quiet storm, and interpreted songs by songwriters such as Leonard Cohen and members of the Beatles.
Robert Peapo “Peabo” Bryson (born 1951) is an American singer and songwriter. He is known for singing soul ballads (often as a duet with female singers) including the hit singles “Tonight, I Celebrate My Love” with Roberta Flack, “A Whole New World” with Regina Belle, and ”Beauty and the Beast” with Celine Dion.
Tonight I Celebrate My Love – The Song
“Tonight I Celebrate My Love“ is a romantic ballad written by lyricist Gerry Goffin with Michael Masser and recorded by Peabo Bryson and Roberta Flack for their 1983 album of duets, Born to Love, issued as the lead single. The track—produced by Masser—became a million-selling international hit.
The Heart – The Shape
This record has been modelled into a loving heart. The heart shape and its meaning has evolved over hundreds of years. Nowadays it means love but before the 13th and 14th centuries it was generally drawn for decorative purposes. People at that time thought of our hearts as books of memory and believed feelings for the beloved were somehow written on your heart.
