Additional information about this, Berlin vinyl art.

Berlin – The Artist

Berlin is an American new wave band originally formed in Orange County, California. The band gained mainstream-commercial success with singles including “Sex (I’m A…)”, “No More Words” and the chart-topping “Take My Breath Away” from the 1986 film Top Gun. Band members included John Crawford (bass, vocals), Terri Nunn (vocals), David Diamond (keyboards), Ric Olsen (guitar), Matt Reid (keyboards) and Rod Learned (drums).

Take My Breath Away – The Song

‘Take My Breath Away’ is a love song written by Giorgio Moroder and Tom Whitlock for the 1986 film Top Gun, performed by American new wave band Berlin. Once Giorgio Moroder wrote the musical backing to what would become “Take My Breath Away”, lyricist Tom Whitlock wrote the lyrics while driving home from the studio, and then spent a few hours at home polishing them. A demo of the song, sung by a background singer, impressed director Tony Scott and producers Jerry Bruckheimer and Don Simpson, who decided to film more romantic scenes between Tom Cruise and Kelly McGillis to feature the song.

Top Gun, the film is about United States Naval Aviator LT Pete “Maverick” Mitchell and his Radar Intercept Officer LTJG Nick “Goose” Bradshaw fly the F-14A Tomcat aboard USS Enterprise. During an interception with two hostile MiG-28 aircraft (portrayed by a Northrop F-5), Maverick gets missile lock on one, while the other hostile aircraft locks onto Maverick’s wingman, Cougar. While Maverick drives off the remaining MiG-28, Cougar is too shaken to land, and Maverick, defying orders, shepherds him back to the carrier. Cougar gives up his wings, citing his newborn child that he has never seen. Despite his dislike for Maverick’s recklessness, CAG “Stinger” sends him and Goose to attend Topgun, the Naval Fighter Weapons School at Naval Air Station Miramar.

The Coronavirus Cell – The Shape

Modelled into an artistic view of a Coronavirus cell as if looked through a microscope. Coronaviruses are a group of related viruses that cause diseases in mammals and birds. In humans, coronaviruses cause respiratory tract infections that can range from mild to lethal. Mild illnesses include some cases of the common cold, while more lethal varieties can cause SARS, MERS, and COVID-19.
