Radiohead – The Artists
Radiohead are an English rock band formed in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, in 1985. The band consists of Thom Yorke (vocals, guitar, piano, keyboards), brothers Jonny Greenwood (lead guitar, keyboards, other instruments) and Colin Greenwood (bass), Ed O’Brien (guitar, backing vocals) and Philip Selway (drums, percussion). They have worked with producer Nigel Godrich and cover artist Stanley Donwood since 1994. Radiohead had sold more than 30 million albums worldwide by 2011. Their work places highly in both listener polls and critics’ lists of the best music of the 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019.
Street Spirit (Fade Out) – The Song
‘Street Spirit (Fade Out)’ is a song by the English alternative rock band Radiohead. It is the final track on their second album, The Bends, released in 1995. It was released as a single and reached number five on the UK Singles Chart, Radiohead’s highest chart position up to that point. It has been covered by Peter Gabriel and the Darkness. In 2008, the song was featured on Radiohead: The Best Of.
The “Modified bear” logo – The Shape
This scarce record in white vinyl has been modelled into the Radioheads “Modified bear” logo. The “Modified bear” logo was originally designed for the Kid A album by artists Stanley Donwood and Thom Yorke.
Stanley Donwood (born 29 October 1968) is the pen name of English artist and writer Dan Rickwood. Since 1994, he has created all the artwork for the rock band Radiohead, with singer Thom Yorke. He also creates artwork for Yorke’s solo albums and Yorke’s band Atoms for Peace, and book covers for nature writer Robert Macfarlane.
