KC & The Sunshine Band – The Artist

KC and the Sunshine Band is an American disco and funk band, founded in 1973 in Hialeah, Florida by Harry Wayne Casey (KC), a record store employee and part-timer at TK Records. The band took its name from lead vocalist Harry Wayne Casey’s last name (“KC”) and the “Sunshine Band” from KC’s home state of Florida, the Sunshine State.

Sound Your Funky Horn is a song written by Harry Wayne Casey and C. Reid and performed by KC & The Sunshine Band it was taken from their debut album “Get it On”. The album was focused towards an upbeat funk, which would later turn into disco.
