Ring Of Fire – Johnny Cash (1963)

An Individual, limited edition, example of vinyl record silhouette art made from a genuine, original, 45rpm, 7” single of Ring Of Fire from 1963, by Country star, Johnny Cash. Released on the Columbia record label, this scarce vinyl single has been reworked into a silhouette of a ring of fire.

Ring of Fire, was written by June Carter Cash and Merle Kilgore. It was originally recorded by June’s sister, Anita Carter, on her Mercury Records album Folk Songs Old and New but it was popularised by Johnny Cash and became one of the biggest hits of his career.

Although Ring of Fire sounds ominous, the term refers to falling in love – which is what June Carter was experiencing with Johnny Cash at the time.
