Guns N’ Roses – The Artist
Guns N’ Roses, often abbreviated as GNR, is an American hard rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1985. When they signed to Geffen Records in 1986, the band comprised vocalist Axl Rose, lead guitarist Slash, rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin, bassist Duff McKagan, and drummer Steven Adler. The current lineup consists of Rose, Slash, McKagan, keyboardist Dizzy Reed, guitarist Richard Fortus, drummer Frank Ferrer and keyboardist Melissa Reese. In their early years, the band’s hedonism and rebelliousness drew comparisons to the early Rolling Stones and earned them the nickname “the most dangerous band in the world.” Guns N’ Roses have sold more than 100 million records worldwide, including 45 million in the United States.
Paradise City – The Song
Paradise City is a song by the American rock band Guns N’ Roses, featured on their debut album, Appetite for Destruction (1987). It was released as a single in November 1988. It is also the only song on the album to feature a synthesiser. It is frequently played at sports stadiums during games along with “Welcome to the Jungle”, also from Appetite for Destruction.
The Cross – The Shape
The Christian cross, seen as a representation of the instrument of the crucifixion of Jesus, is the best-known symbol of Christianity. It is related to the crucifix (a cross that includes a corpus, usually a three-dimensional representation of Jesus’ body) and to the more general family of cross symbols, the term cross itself being detached from the original specifically Christian meaning in modern English. The cross used here is the basic form of cross which is the Latin cross with unequal arms.
