Additional information about this, Judge Dread vinyl art.

Judge Dread – The Artist

Alexander Minto Hughes (1945 – 1998) better known as Judge Dread, was an English reggae and ska musician. He was the first white recording artist to have a reggae hit in Jamaica, and the BBC has banned more of his songs than those of any other recording artist, because of his frequent use of sexual innuendo and double entendres. Dread had 11 UK chart hits in the 1970s, which was more than any other reggae artist (including Bob Marley). The Guinness Book of World Records credited Judge Dread for having the highest number (eleven) of banned songs of all time. Several of his songs mentioned Snodland, the small town in Kent where Judge Dread lived, including “The Belle of Snodland Town”.

Hello Baby – The Song

‘Hello Baby’ is a comedy reggae song by Judge Dread and written by J.Forde and S.Cooke. Normally his songs are full of sexual innuendo and double entendres but this is surprisingly tame. Lyrically the song tells the tale of a young man who admires a lady from afar only to eventually ask her out .

The Heart – The Shape

This record has been crafted into the silhouette of a heart. The heart shape and its meaning has evolved over hundreds of years. Nowadays it means love but before the 13th and 14th centuries it was generally drawn for decorative purposes. People at that time thought of our hearts as books of memory and believed feelings for the beloved were somehow written on your heart.

The Calendar background is inspired by the lyrics of the song.  A calendar is a system of organising days. This is done by giving names to periods of time, typically days, weeks, months and years. A date is the designation of a single and specific day within such a system. A calendar is also a physical record (often paper) of such a system. A calendar can also mean a list of planned events, such as a court calendar, or a partly or fully chronological list of documents, such as a calendar of wills.
