The Cookie Crew – The Artist/s
The Cookie Crew were a female rap music duo formed in Clapham, South London in 1983 consisting of MC Remedee and Susie Q (Susan Banfield, Debbie Pryce). Their career took off after winning a national rap championship and recording two sessions for the John Peel BBC Radio 1 show. The Gingerbread Woman – The Shape
This record has been modelled into the silhouette of a gingerbread woman sporting a rappers hat as worn by the Cookie Crew. A gingerbread man or woman is a biscuit or cookie made from gingerbread, usually in the shape of a stylised human being, although other shapes, especially seasonal themes (Christmas, Halloween, Easter, etc.) and characters are common too. Gingerbread refers to a broad category of baked goods, typically flavoured with ginger, cloves, nutmeg, and cinnamon and sweetened with honey, sugar, or molasses. Gingerbread foods vary, ranging from a moist loaf cake to forms nearly as crisp as a ginger snap.
