Crystal Palace FC (Featuring The “Fab Four”) – The Artist/s
Crystal Palace Football Club is an English professional football club based in Selhurst, South London, that competes in the Premier League, the highest level of English football. They were founded in 1905 at the famous Crystal Palace Exhibition building and played their home games at the FA Cup Final stadium situated inside the historic Palace grounds. The club were forced to leave the Palace in 1915 due to the outbreak of the First World War, and played at Herne Hill Velodrome and the Nest until 1924, when they moved to their current home at Selhurst Park. It was the 1990 Fa Cup Final Squad that sung on the record ‘Glad All Over’. The “Fab Four” were players from the 1990 squad who performed major parts on the record and were mentioned separately, they were Alan Pardew, Andy Great, Gary O’Reilly and Mark Bright.
Glad All Over- The Song
Glad All Over was originally written by Dave Clark and Mike Smith and recorded by The Dave Clark Five. It became the British group’s first big hit, reaching No.1 on the UK Singles Chart. Crystal Palace Football Club adopted the song as their anthem in the 1960s. It is played at the start of all home games, and after full-time (when Palace win). The chorus is played after home goals, after the goalscorer’s name is read out. It is also sung by fans as a chant.
