An Individual, limited edition, example of vinyl record silhouette art made from a genuine, original, 45rpm, 7” single of Faith from 1987, by George Michael. Released on the Epic record label, this vinyl single has been reworked into the silhouette of a Gothic cross.

Faith was written and performed by George Michael, from his 1987 debut solo album of the same name. Having disbanded Wham! the previous year, there was a keen expectation for Michael’s solo career and Faith did not disappoint his critics and would go on to become one of his most popular and enduring songs, as well as being the most simplistic in its production. It was the second of six singles released from the well-received album. The song was featured in the film Bitter Moon, directed by Roman Polanski.

Colour Symbolism in Christianity

  • White & Gold – White and Gold symbolise the brightness of day.
  • Violet – is the ancient royal colour and therefore a symbol of the sovereignty of Christ. Violet is also associated with repentance from sin.
  • Black – The traditional colour of mourning in some cultures.
  • Red – Evokes the colour of blood, and therefore is the colour of martyrs and of Christ’s death on the Cross. Red also symbolises fire, and therefore is the colour of the Holy Spirit.
  • Green – The colour of growth.
  • Blue – The colour of the sky and in some rites honours Mary.
