An individual, limited edition, example of vinyl record art made from a genuine, original, 45rpm, 7” single featuring songs from the film Carousel by Rodgers and Hammerstein. The record was released in 1956 on the EMI record label, in the UK, and has been reworked into a fairground carousel horse.

Carousel is a 1956 film adaptation of the 1945 Rodgers and Hammerstein stage musical of the same name which, in turn, was based on Ferenc Molnár’s non-musical play Liliom. The story revolves around carousel barker Billy Bigelow, whose romance with millworker Julie Jordan comes at the price of both their jobs. The 1956 Carousel film stars Gordon MacRae and Shirley Jones. Like the original stage production, the film contains what many critics consider some of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s most beautiful songs
