Queen – The Artist
Queen are a British rock band that formed in London in 1970. Their classic line-up was Freddie Mercury (lead vocals, piano), Brian May (lead guitar, vocals), Roger Taylor (drums, vocals), and John Deacon (bass guitar). Queen’s earliest works were influenced by progressive rock, hard rock and heavy metal, but the band gradually ventured into more conventional and radio-friendly works by incorporating further styles, such as arena rock and pop rock, into their music.
Bohemian Rhapsody – The Song
‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ was written by Freddie Mercury for the band’s 1975 album A Night at the Opera. It is a six-minute suite, consisting of several sections without a chorus: an intro, a ballad segment, an operatic passage, a hard rock part and a reflective coda. It was reportedly the most expensive single ever made at the time of its release. Although critical reaction was initially mixed, Bohemian Rhapsody remains one of Queen’s most popular songs and is frequently placed on lists of the greatest songs of all time.
The Coronation Crown – The Shape
This record has been modelled into that of a Coronation crown similar to that of the crown used in the Queen logo as found on many of their records and promotional material. The Crowns used for the coronation ceremony are part of the Crown Jewels. The Crown Jewels of the United Kingdom, originally the Crown Jewels of England, are a collection of royal ceremonial objects kept in the Tower of London, which include the regalia and vestments worn at their coronations by British kings and queens.
