Snowy White – The Artist
Terence Charles “Snowy” White (born1948, Barnstaple, Devon) is an English guitarist, known for having played with Thin Lizzy (permanent member from 1980 to 1982) and with Pink Floyd (as a backing guitarist; he was first invited to tour with the band through Europe and the United States in 1977, and during The Wall shows in 1980), and more recently, for Roger Waters’ band. He is also known for his 1983 solo offering “Bird of Paradise”, which became a UK Singles Chart Top 10 hit single.
Bird of Paradise – The Song
Bird of Paradise is the debut single by former Thin Lizzy guitarist Snowy White, from his debut album, White Flames, released in 1983. The single became White’s biggest hit, peaking at no. 6 on the UK Singles Chart in January 1984, remaining on the chart for 11 weeks. The song was the only single released from the album, and is White’s signature song.
The Mccaw Parrot – The Shape
This record has been modelled into a a Mccaw Parrot. Macaws are a group of New World parrots that are long-tailed and often colourful. They are popular in aviculture or as companion parrots, although there are conservation concerns about several species in the wild. Of the many different Psittacidae (true parrots) genera, six are classified as macaws: Ara, Anodorhynchus, Cyanopsitta, Primolius, Orthopsittaca, and Diopsittaca. Most species are associated with forests, especially rainforests, but others prefer woodland or savannah-like habitats. Proportionately larger beaks, long tails, and relatively bare, light-coloured, medial (facial patch) areas distinguish macaws from other parrots. Sometimes the facial patch is smaller in some species and limited to a yellow patch around the eyes and a second patch near the base of the beak in the members of the genus Anodorhynchus. A macaw’s facial feather pattern is as unique as a fingerprint.
